Plus the textured panels are less prone to “oil canning” which makes for a more attractive roof. Contractors like textured metal panels because the texture provides more grip during installation than smooth panels. 

The color options vary a bit with 20 standard metal color choices and 15 textured metal color choices. Both carry the same 40-year film integrity warranty from Beckers. Textured metal panels redirect sunlight for less glare than smooth panels. Textured panels also offer more grip for anyone working on the roof. Textured metal items have a slightly higher price.

Textured metals features BeckryTex, a unique wrinkled coating based on Beckers HDPE resin.

Beckers has performed thorough tests on its products in accelerated and real life weathering situations. BeckryTex was found to be no more susceptible to biologic attack than comparative products.

With any product, the growth of algae, mold, and mildew on any coating is dependent on environmental and climate factors. Beckers recommends periodic cleaning within area of high dirt and humidity.
