A standing seam roofing system is different from a standard metal roof. As the name suggests, it’s recognizable by its “standing seams,” under which the fastener system is concealed.

This not only creates a head-turning look with plenty of curb appeal, but also prevents water infiltration through those fastener systems, extending the roof’s life.

Several standing seam roof profiles are available and we invite you to contact us so we can talk about the one that’s best for your roofing project.

Legacy Metals Standing Seam Metal Roofing Panels In Action...

10 Reasons to Use Legacy Metals Superior Panel

1. Bare Metal

Legacy Metals Superior Panel is made of a minimum of 28-gauge, .0157 – 80,000 PSI bare steel, assuring you with the heaviest, strongest metal roofing and siding panels available.

2. Galvanization (2 Layers)

Legacy Metals Superior Panel is coated with 10oz of zinc protection (minimum). Compared to our competitors’ G60 and AZ50 products, this means we have to up to 60% better corrosion resistance.

3. Zinc Phosphate Pre-Treatment

This process preps the surface for painting while adding another layer of corrosion protection. The 1421 Henkel pre-treat allows our paint to adhere better than a lesser pre-treatment, or none at all. Some coil processors skip this step!

4. Sealer Coat

Seals the zinc pre-treatment in preparation for the HDPE paint system.

5. Thicker Primer Coat

Preps the surface for consistent paint application and adds another layer of corrosion protection.

6. Backer Coat

Full off-white backer coat for a consistent appearance on building interiors.

7. Top Coat

HDPE (Highly Durable Polyester) is a superior formulation compared to SMP (siliconized modified polyester). It provides the best color retention on the polyester market today!

8. Superior UV Resistance

Compared to SMP, our Legacy Metals Superior Panels with HDPE offer superior UV resistance. We’ve done extensive testing on a South Florida test fence with impressive results.

9. Excellent Paint Flexibility

Paint flexibility means better formability when bending trims or roll forming panels, with less cracking and micro-fracturing.

10. Improved Hardness

Improved hardness assures that our panels are more resistant to scratching, marring, and abrasion during handling.

Less Glare, More Grip

Our textured panels continue to be very popular in residential applications.

Homeowners like it because the unique textured surface redirects sunlight for less glare than smooth panels. Plus the textured panels are less prone to “oil canning” which makes for a more attractive roof.

Contractors like textured panels because the texture provides more grip during installation than smooth panels. That extra grip comes in handy for any future repairmen or homeowners that need to stand on the roof for various tasks.

Because the textured coating is baked into the metal coil at the factory, our textured panels carry the same 40-year paint warranty.
